Dog Park Amenities at Puppy Playland
- Water features
- Agility equipment
- Walking path
- Separate areas for large and small dogs
Puppy Playland currently has the traditional amenities of most dog parks. There is a water fountain, walking path and shaded pavilion. Waste stations, agility equipment and fenced areas for different sized dogs are also available. In front of the parking lot there is an extra water feature for use to clean, or cool your pup.
As you can see, the grass is quite dry and not well-shaded. The water features will, most definitely, come in handy throughout the year. The walking path is very short, but the current landscape will prevent muddy feet. Unique signs are posted around the perimeter fence which give the park a special flavor.
This dog park already looks nice, although very dry. It’s an excellent space which gives our four-legged friends some opportunities to socialize and exercise. It may need more shade and room to roam, but these needs are already in the plans.

The dog park may not look like a prize winner now, but there are plans for future updates. A perimeter walking trail, lighting, restroom, doggy splash-pad and water jumping area will be some of these updates. Picnic tables, pavilions and landscaping are also part of the plan. Such amenities would make this dog park better than any we have seen in San Antonio – all of them.
Visit Puppy Playland and donate to the cause. This will be one ultimate dog park, but not without your help. New Braunfels is between two dog friendly cities. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a more dog friendly atmosphere in New Braunfels as well. Dogs need exercise and things to do, just like we do!
